Certificate I in General Construction (Plumbing)

Full School Year Course

Summary of the Program

This program covers the introductory competencies all new Apprentices are taught; OH&S, Hand and Power Tools, Welding (Oxy and Arc), Copper Fabrication, Levelling and Sheet Metal work.  This course is structured to provide 240 hours of school attendance with 160 hours of work experience.  This course is offered to Year 11 and 12 students and no prior experience is required.  After successful completion of this program the student will be awarded the Certificate I in General Construction.

One day per week for the full year, 2008. (Approximately 30 weeks).

PEER is located near Bus Stop 27.  The closest train station is Cheltenham.

Structured Work Placement

Yes, 4 weeks within the year.  This work placement is organised by the student.

Anticipated Cost per Student

$1,719 (this includes a $75 materials fee).

Payment Options

An invoice will be sent to the school and the school will then follow up with the student/parent for payment.  Students should speak to their school VET Coordinator to enquire about any possible subsidy.
