Course Aim
This course provides the participant with the necessary knowledge and skills to apply for a Restricted Cablers Registration and to install telecommunications cabling to the requirements of the Australian Communications & Media Authority (ACMA) technical standards.

This accelerated course covers:
- NTE/NUE199 Restricted Cabling Provider Rules Regulations & Installations
This includes the wiring rules, practical skills and underpinning knowledge required to install telephone, alarm and security cabling in smaller installations which do not involve patch panels or jumperable frames. On successful completion, applicants with the necessary pre-requisites will be issued with Competency Statement ICTTC136A.
Pre-Requisites
This is an accelerated course for applicants with trade level experience installing building cabling (electrical, data, alarms etc.) and the background training detailed in the ACMA document “Pathways to ACMA Cabling Provider Rules Cabler Registration” (May 06 edition).
Applicants who are Trainees/Apprentices or who do not have the relevant industry experience need to discuss their situation with an assessor to plan a suitable training pathway.

Applicants will need to provide documentary evidence to verify that they meet the pre-requisites:
- Electrical principles
- Occupational Health & Safety/First Aid
- Hand and power tool use
- 400 hours cabling installation experience
Structure
This course will involve theory, practical and assessment.
Students will need the following:
- AS/ACIF S009:2006
- AS/ACIF S008:2006
- Pens/Pencils, coloured highlighters
- Basic hand tools - side cutters, pliers, screwdriver, krone tool
