Coaxial Cabling

Course Aim

This course provides the participant with the necessary knowledge and skills to install, inspect and test coaxial cable installations to AS3815 and ACMA technical standards.

Duration

  • 8 hours

Modules

This accelerated course covers:

  • NTC020 Coaxial Cabling

The module studies the basic construction, termination, jointing, installation and testing of co-axial cable used for customer local area networking and antennae cabling.  The course includes practical work to fit various connector types and to test and fault find coaxial cabling systems.  On successful completion participants will be issued with Competency Statement ICTTC011 which is the requirement for the coaxial cabling endorsement on an Open Registration.  This module does not entitle the student to install coaxial cabling without an appropriate cablers registration.

Pre-Requisites

  • Familiarity with the contents of AS/ACIF S009:2006

Structure

  • This course will involve theory, practical and assessment
